Pacific Foundation for Medical Care supports non-profit, health related projects that enhance the availability or quality of health services in communities. Since 1993, PFMC has provided more than $1.4 million in grant awards to 73 different organizations and programs in the North San Francisco Bay Area.

In June 2012, PFMC awarded a total of $82,500 to the following recipients:

Community Action Partnership
(capsonoma.org) To allow the Sonoma County Oral Health Access Coalition to continue advocacy regarding water fluoridation and oral health education, and to increase oral health care access for low-income children and families in Sonoma County.

Jewish Community Free Clinic
(jewishfreeclinic.org) To support weekly clinics with an all-volunteer staff that provides free medical evaluations, medications, laboratory services, and nursing care to any uninsured person in need in Marin and Sonoma counties. Referrals are provided to free physician specialists, immunization clinics, social services, mental health services, and alternative health services.

North County Health Services 
(nchs-health.org) To support the purchase of glucose strips for uninsured diabetic patients in San Diego County to help them gain control of their diabetes and have a healthier future.

Operation Access
(operationaccess.org) To support donated surgeries, specialty care, and diagnostic screenings to the uninsured in Sonoma, Marin, Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Francisco counties.

PDI Surgery Center
To support the purchase of supplies for the dental surgery program to provide dental surgery under general anesthesia and improve the oral health of underserved children in Northern California.

RotaCare Clinic of San Rafael
(rotacarebayarea.org) To support a volunteer alliance of medical professionals and community members providing free urgent care medical services, pharmaceuticals, and lab services for the uninsured and underinsured in Marin County.

San Diego County Medical Society Foundation
(sdcms.org) To support Project Access San Diego that enhances the availability of specialty medical care through its network of volunteer physicians, hospitals, surgery centers, and other ancillary services for the uninsured who have no other resources for specialty healthcare.

Sonoma County Regional Parks Foundation
(sonoma-county.org) To initiate a Parks Prescription program in cooperation with Santa Rosa Community Health Centers providing Regional Parks memberships for low-income overweight or obese patients and their families to access county parks for outdoor exercise.
