Pacific Foundation for Medical Care supports non-profit, health related projects that enhance the availability or quality of health services in communities. Since 1993, PFMC has provided more than $1.4 million in grant awards to 75 different organizations and programs in the North San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego County.

In Fall 2020, PFMC awarded a total of $114,000 to the following recipients:

Center for Well-Being – Sonoma County
To support programs offering free services directly benefiting 100 individuals with a variety of group classes and ongoing individual clinical nutrition therapy visits with an RD.

Champions for Health – San Diego County
To support ongoing specialty healthcare and community wellness services to San Diego County’s uninsured low-income residents that have very limited access to health services and preventive health care.

CTE Foundation – Sonoma County
To support expansion of hands-on-learning opportunities for high school students in Sonoma County through the Distance Learning Program.   Funding will provide direct support to implement career technical education strategies increasing student engagement and foster technical skill building to prepare students for college and careers.

Father Joe’s Villages – San Diego County
To help fund the Village Family Health Center that provides services for homeless people in the community. The funding will go toward direct clinic operations, which includes medical supplies, pharmacy expenses and radiology services.

Hospice by the Bay – Alameda, Marin, San Francisco and Sonoma Counties
To support the cost of care of our youngest patients.  By the Bay Kids program provides palliative care services to children living with serious illness and their families in Marin, San Francisco, Sonoma, and Alameda Counties. This program is the only one with extensive experience and expertise in pediatric palliative care.

Jewish Community Free Clinic – Sonoma County
General operating support of weekly clinics with an all-volunteer staff that provides free medical care and social services to any uninsured person in need.

Maitri Compassionate Care – San Francisco County
To support the BRANCH Aftercare Program providing compassionate care to low-income people living with HIV/AIDS in San Francisco. The program offers exiting patients continued psychosocial, mental health, medical and nutritional support to safeguard their transition toward independent life.

SCMAA Foundation – Sonoma County
To support scholarships for qualified applicants entering into health-related fields.

Sonoma County Regional Parks – Sonoma County
To support a program, Park Pathways to Community Health During a Pandemic.  Park Pathways will promote park access and usage to improve mental and physical health with a primary focus on serving underserved Sonoma County residents.

United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay – Sonoma County
To help fund a Multidisciplinary Team consisting of an Occupational Therapist, Speech & Language Therapist, and Behavior Intervention Specialist. Offering one on-one and group sessions during the Summer Intensive Program, which has always included family members and student volunteers.

West County Health Centers – Sonoma County
To help provide complimentary lunches to volunteer works at the rural community Vaccination Clinics serving vulnerable and marginalized populations. There are 40 licensed and retired medical professionals, and administrative volunteers per day covering 2 sites, 6 days a week for 8-hour days.  The clinics will be open until June 2021.
