Pacific Foundation for Medical Care supports non-profit, health related projects that enhance the availability or quality of health services in communities. Since 1993, PFMC has provided more than $1.4 million in grant awards to 75 different organizations and programs in the North San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego County
In Spring 2023, PFMC awarded a total of $31,000 to the following recipients:
Center for Well Being – Sonoma County
To provide clinical nutrition services for underinsured and uninsured individuals residing in Sonoma County. The program will offer 100 patients a variety of free nutrition services, group classes, ongoing individual clinical nutrition therapy and one-on-one supportive care coordination. We have seen the significant benefit this strategy has had on social and physical health of our high-risk patients.
Imani Clinic – Sacramento County
For a Prevention Hypertension Management program at Imani Clinic. Aimed at reducing CVD risk, the most common diagnosis at the clinic, by overcoming healthcare barriers patients face. We hope to acknowledge hypertension’s intricacies and multifactorial nature to provide culturally and racially sensitive care.
March of Dimes – San Diego County
For the Awareness to Action: Dismantling Bias in Maternal and Infant Healthcare, live in-person training for the UCSD OB/GYN staff and Maternal Child Health Community Health Workers. This will provide important insights to recognize and remedy implicit bias in maternity care settings.
